The Stone Grinder is a device used to automatically grind Small Stones into Iron Fragments and Sand. It has an integrated crate into which the player can deposit Small Stones to be ground. It can be placed indoors or on the ground outside and requires 100 units of Power to run. The Stone Grinder grinds each stone into 10 Sand and 2 Iron Fragments. The grinding process takes 25 seconds per stone and stops when there are no more stones to grind or when the device cannot hold any more Sand (maximum 1000). Iron Fragments currently have no maximum.
Like other power consuming devices, the Stone Grinder must be wired either directly or indirectly (by means of an Electrical Relay) from a Junction Box which in turn must be wired from a Control Panel in order to use available Power. The Stone Grinder can be powered on or off by turning its Junction Box on or off in any Control Panel. Even when the device is powered on, power is only consumed during the actual grinding process. When the integrated crate is empty of stones to grind or if the device can't hold any more ground material, the device stops consuming power.
To empty the Stone Grinder, the player must press 
while looking at the device. This fills the player's inventory with stacks of 10 Sand and stacks of 5 Iron Fragments that have accumulated. The player can opt to discard the Sand before taking the Iron Fragments by pressing H before pressing .
