The Stone Axe is an early game tool used to chop down trees and tree stumps. The game's beginner tutorial instructs the player to craft a Stone Axe on day one. It takes 7 hits of the Stone Axe to chop down a large tree or a tree stump and 4 hits to chop down a small tree. The Stone Axe or the Iron Axe are needed to butcher animals on the Butcher Table.
