Shield

The Shield is a wooden defensive device held by the player to ward off blows. The initial rollout of the Shield has been done with the intention of testing the functionality and usability of the item. Because this is just the first pass of the Shield, the player does not need to craft or equip it. The Shield is automatically in the player's possession. The default button for blocking is , but it can be modified in the Key Settings.
The Shield cannot be destroyed by Vambies.

How to Use the Shield

• The Shield requires an equipped weapon or tool to be used. This includes the Archer Bow and Crossbow.
• The Shield prevents all damage when the player blocks an attack.
• The Shield only blocks attacks in front of the player. It does not block attacks from the side or from behind the player.
• You cannot attack while the Shield is being used to block.
• Pressing and releasing the block button automatically unequips or equips your current weapon or tool.
