The NPC Storage Container is a basic container for an NPC to store and retrieve food that the NPC has farmed and to retrieve food and materials, such as Repair Kits, that the player has placed in it for the NPC. It is the only container that an NPC can interact with in terms of withdrawing and depositing items. The NPC Storage Container can only be crafted or placed in the Town Hall.
The NPC Storage Container has a 10x4 storage space. The NPC Storage Container has a nominal durability of 50, but it is not attacked and damaged by mobs. The direction in which the containers face has no affect on their functionality, but visually they have a latch on the front side in the top center that is missing in the back. They cannot be transported in a Log Cart or in the Truck and they cannot be stored in Chest Racks.
NPC Storage Containers can be conveniently labeled by the player. To label a NPC Storage Container, activate it with E and enter the label text in the text box at the top of the container's user interface. The label will appear on both the front and back sides of the container.
The player can either remove individual items from the container or remove the entire contents by selecting the "Take All" button which appears in the shape of an arrow with a tooltip.
