The Large Flask is a larger version of the small starter Flask that players have in their inventory when they start a new game.
The Large Flask can hold up to 200 units of Water, whereas the starter Flask only holds 60 units of water. Otherwise the two flasks function in the same way.
Filling small Flask with dirty water from a pond
To fill any flask with dirty water from a natural water source (pond, river, sea), point the cursor at the water and open your inventory to the Food section. As long as you are close enough to the water, a circle will apear in the water with the words "Add Water" beneath it. Drag the flask from your inventory to the circle to fill it with dirty water and and then release the mouse button.
Adding snow to Large Flask
To fill any flask with dirty water from snow, point the cursor at the snow and open your inventory to the Food section. As long as you are close enough to the snow, a circle will apear in the snow with the words "Add Snow" beneath it. Drag the flask from your inventory to the circle to fill it with snow and then release the mouse button. The flask will be full of dirty water.
Gathering Clean water with small Flask from the Campfire
To purify water on a Campfire or in a Pot on the Metal Stove, activate the Campfire or Metal Stove with E (default) and drag any flask containing dirty water to the circle on the Campfire's bucket or to the Pot on the stove. Light the fire in the campfire or stove to boil the water. Finally, collect the clean water by activating the campfire or stove and dragging the flask once again over the circle on the campfire's bucket or the pot.
To examine the contents of any flask, open your Inventory to the food section with F2. The amount and kind (clean or dirty) of water is displayed when you point at the flask with the mouse cursor. To drink from the flask, click on it in your food inventory and hold with the right mouse button. The options to either Drink the water or Empty the flask will appear. Click on the word "Drink" with the left mouse button to still your thirst. Click on the word "Empty" with the left mouse button to empty the flask.
To extinguish a fire using any flask containing water, activate the device that has the fire burning and drag the flask from your food inventory over the fuel receptacle of the lit device. The fire will gradually go out, preserving the remaining fuel from being consumed. One unit of water will be spent on the process of extinguishing the fire.
To use any flask containing dirty or clean water to water crops in a Plant Bed, activate the Plant Bed with E (default) and drag the flask to the water receptacle requiring water.
The recipe for the Large Flask is found in the Itempedia section of the Recipe Book under Food and Drinks.
