The Junction Box is a vital component in the Power system of The Infected. Before players can craft the Junction Box, they must first find the associated Power Technology Blueprint.
In order for the Junction Box to work, it must have a wired connection from a Control Panel. The Junction Box acts like a crossroad, routing electrical current in any direction to Electrical Relays, Wall Switches and power-consuming devices (such as Fridges). Devices can be wired to the Junction Box either directly (Junction Box and power-consuming device are connected by a wire) or indirectly (Junction Box routes power through one or multiple Electric Relays to the power-consuming device).
The Junction box keeps track of all power-consuming devices that have a direct or indirect wired connection with it. In the user interface of the Junction Box all the power-consuming devices connected to it are listed as is the amount of power that each device requires to run. At the top of the User Interface the player can enter a descriptive name for the Junction Box. This is important because Junction Boxes can only be switched on and off in the user interface of a Control Panel. All Junction Boxes should have differentiating names so the player can recognize them by their names in the Control Panel user interface.
Important: If the total amount of power available (as listed in the user interface of the Control Panel) is less than the combined amount of power required by all connected power-consuming devices (e.g. Fridge), stored Power will be drained from available Battery Storage devices until they are also empty of Power. At that point, every Junction Box will switch off and none of the power-consuming devices will receive power.
