Iron Ore is an important natural resource that can be obtained in three ways:
• Breaking boulders in Caves. Some boulders will yield one piece of Iron Ore when broken in addition to 2 pieces of Lead Ore. Boulders in Caves respawn quickly when the player walks around in a Cave.
• Looting Villages and Vambies
• Extraction from any area outside of a cave using a Mineral Extractor. A Mineral Extractor placed outside of a cave and powered with fuel or powered by the Oil Pump will yield Iron Ore, Iron Fragments and Small Stones. This is the least labor-intensive way to obtain a large amount of Iron Ore.
The player can smelt Iron Ore on the Brick Forge or Stone Forge to make an Iron Ingot.
The player can combine Iron Ore with Lead Ore on the Anvil to obtain Steel Alloy.
