The Goat is a species of passive animal that will attack only when aroused. It can be found roaming the entire Map.
The player can use any weapon to hunt Goats but a spear (of any type) or an Archer Bow is easiest.
A head shot will kill a Goat outright. Hitting it anywhere else will cause it to attack. Eventually a wounded Goat will bleed out and fall down dead.
Goat Keeping (Animal Husbandry)[]
Goats can be kept by the player in a Barn, where they will provide Milk and reproduce. A Goat in the wild can be rendered unconscious by shooting it with a tranquilizer arrow. The player can then transport the Goat back home and deposit it in a Barn. Only female Goats can provide Milk and reproduce, and one male of the species must also be present to lend his support to the process. Milk produced by female Goats is automatically deposited in the barn storage container. The player must store fruit and vegetables in the Barn for the Goats to eat. If there is no food for the Goats they will eventually die and disappear.
Harvesting yields[]
A Goat that has been killed in the wild must be transported to a Butcher Table to maximize the resources that can be harvested. The player can carry the Goat (which causes the player to be encumbered and walk very slowly) or transport the Goat in a Log Cart or on the back of the Truck. The player can also butcher the Goat in the field, but fewer resources will be harvested. Goats in a Barn can also be killed and harvested.
| Resource | Yield on Butcher Table | Yield in the field | Yield in Barn (Kid) |

| Bone | 6 | 1 or 2 | 2 |
