Fox

The Fox is a species of aggressive animal which roams the entire Map.

Foxes will attack if the player wanders too close to them and they can cause infected wounds or bleeding. They will also attack the player's base.

The squeaking sound they make will alert the player to their presence.

The player can use any weapon to kill them but the spear (of any type) or an Archer Bow is most effective. A headshot will kill a Fox outright, but a hit on any other part of its body will cause it to quickly run towards and attack the player. A wounded Fox will eventually bleed out and drop dead.

Harvesting yields[]

A Fox that has been killed must be transported to a Butcher Table to maximize the resources that can be harvested. The player can carry the Fox (which causes the player to be encumbered and walk very slowly) or transport the Fox in a Log Cart or on the back of the Truck. The player can also butcher the Fox in the field, but fewer resources will be harvested.

As with other animals, the health and damage stats of the Fox can be customized in the AI section of the game's loading screen settings.

v. 12.0Fox harvesting yields changed (Raw meat from 1 to 8, 1 Liver added, Animal Fat from 1 to 2, Bone from 1 to 6). Harvesting must occur on Butcher Table. Fox now native only to rocky brownish-colored biome.
