Foliage does not clip through Foundations
The Foundation is the base of all buildings. Foundations snap to each other, but in the Construction Section of the Recipe Book the player can toggle the ability of foundations to snap to neighboring foundations on and off.
Once the foundation is built, the player can build other things on top of it or add building components like walls or a Wooden Ramp.
The Foundation that is under construction can be lowered or raised in height before the player places it with E (default). This can be done by holding X and scrolling
up or down to whatever height is wanted. Once placed the height difference for the foundations snapping onto it is limited. Foundations that are under construction can also be rotated by scrolling
.
Foundations can be placed nearly everywhere on the ground, and if they are unable to be built, the player should make sure there is nothing in the way of the foundation and try again.
Foliage will not clip through Foundations.
Some Placeables can only be built on foundations.
The recipe for the Wooden Foundation is found in the Construction section of the Build Menu under Foundations.
