The world of The Infected has much wildlife which can be a source of food and other resources for the player.

Harvesting Carcasses[]
Carcasses of animals that are killed (with the exception of Birds, Chickens and Scorpions) must be transported to a Butcher Table for harvesting to maximize the resources that can be harvested. The player can carry the carcass (which causes the player to be encumbered and walk very slowly) or transport the carcass in a Log Cart or on the back of the Truck. The player can also butcher a dead animal in the field, but fewer resources will be harvested.
Animal Husbandry[]
Chickens and Goats can be kept in a Barn and females of the species will reproduce and provide resources that cannot be found otherwise except by looting villages. Chickens will lay Eggs and Goats will provide Milk. In order for these animals to thrive, fruits and vegetables must be stored in the Barn for them to eat. If food is no longer available, they will eventually die and disappear.
